A man from Worcestershire has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and perverting the course of justice, in connection with the investigation into the death of Nicola Bulley. Lancashire Constabulary made the arrest after footage was recorded from inside a police cordon on the day Bulley's body was found, and then posted online. The man has since been released on bail with conditions.
Bulley's body was discovered less than a mile from where she was last seen walking her dog after dropping off her two young daughters at school. During the investigation, social media users were accused of playing their own private detectives, while TikTok and YouTube influencers descended on her home village and the locations where she was last seen. Lancashire police have launched an internal review into their handling of the case, and an independent review has been commissioned by the College of Policing.
